1. How Much Are Hamilton Tickets?

The show is one of the most popular West End musicals in London, attracting audiences from around the globe with its smash-hit songs, staging and casts. As it’s such a sought-after production, theatregoers are prepared to spend a lot to be in the room where it happens, with ticket prices often surpassing £200 for the top seats.

There are a few ways to get the cheapest Hamilton tickets, including Day Seats and, if you can, booking tickets to mid-week performances. The musical isn’t always discounted, but it sometimes appears in seasonal promotions, so keep your eyes out for the difference in prices over different days and months.

If you can’t find a discount, don’t worry! Below we’ve pulled together a complete guide to making the most of your budget and getting cheap Hamilton tickets.

2. When Should I Book Tickets for Hamilton?

There’s typically good availability for Hamilton a month in advance, although the cheaper-priced seats tend to sell out earlier. If you want to see the musical during its peak times, like over the weekend or during the school and bank holidays, we recommend booking a few months in advance to secure the best seats within your budget.

Weekends, bank holidays and usual school holidays are the busiest times to visit the Victoria Palace Theatre, which means these dates are typically the most expensive. It’s no secret that off-peak performances will save you money, so if you’re flexible, we recommend booking tickets for performances between Monday and Thursday.

Offers aren’t always available for Hamilton. However, the show is sometimes included in seasonal promotions, such as London Theatre Week or the London Theatre New Year Sale, so it’s best to keep your eyes out for any of these.

3. How Do I Get Last Minute Hamilton Tickets?

The best way to get good value, last-minute tickets for Hamilton is online. It’s also worth visiting the TKTS booth in Leicester Square or checking the online listings for discounted same-day tickets.

On the day of, a limited number of standing tickets at the back of the Grand Circle are released for £12.50 - these are by far the cheapest tickets for the popular musical. Or, if you plan ahead, enter the TodayTix Hamilton ticket lottery, where you’ll be in for a chance to win £10 tickets. Entries for the lottery open every Friday and winners are drawn each Thursday between 1pm and 5pm. If you’re a lucky winner, you’ll be notified via email and you’ll have 30 minutes to claim your tickets.

Unsold tickets on the day of performances may be lowered in price depending on demand. At the time of writing, Seat E18 in the Grand Circle is £52.50 on the day of the performance, however, it’s £17 more for the same seat two days later.

It’s best to keep in mind that this isn’t always the case, especially during peak times or when a performance is nearly sold out. Always spend time researching ticket prices before buying last minute, as prices are influenced by supply and demand.

4. Where Should I Sit at Hamilton?

In 2016 the theatre underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, opening its doors in 2017 to welcome theatregoers to Hamilton. Most of the seats in the theatre boast a great view of the stage, with only a handful of seats offering a restricted view. The best seats for the musical are towards the middle of the stalls, so you can catch all of the action happening on stage; however, these come with a hefty price tag. There are also padded benches in the Grand Circle that sit 4 in a row, costing £20 per ticket - these are seats AA1-AA8. You may need to lean forward to see some of the stage, but don’t let this put you off.

Check our guide to the best cheap seats for Hamilton for tips on finding great value seats within your budget.

5. How to Get Cheap Hamilton Matinee Tickets

There are two matinees per week at Victoria Palace Theatre, with performances starting at 2.30pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. All evening performances start at 7.30pm throughout the week.

If you’re flexible with your time, we recommend booking tickets to a Thursday matinee as you may be able to save a significant amount on tickets. At the time of writing Royal Circle D19 is £135 on Thursday afternoon and £200 on Saturday afternoon via the box office. That’s a saving of over 35%.
